Dust-jacket protected in archival mylar cover.; Uncommon in dust-jacket. First edition in English. 224 pages + 27 illustrations on 8 plate leaves. Maroon cloth boards with gilt lettering and rule on spine. Page dimensions: 230 x 149mm. Text in English, translated from the French by Fred Rothwell. "An authentic, authoritative work on the esoteric doctrines & magical practices of Tibet" - from front panel of dust-jacket. The front panel of the dust-jacket has an illustration of Alexandra David-Neel and Lama Yongden in travelling attire (This illustration can also be found within the book in the plate facing page 32.)
