	1	Cheeseman, T. F. Illustrations of the New Zealand Flora [Two volumes] Wellington John Mackay, Government Printer 1914 First Edition Hardcover Very Good- with no dust jacket No signatures. Volume One has a 4" x 1 1/4"dampstain to the lower part of the front joint. 2" dampstain to part of gutter at front hinge, not affecting the remaining leaves of the book. A few wrinkles to cloth on front board of Volume One. Otherwise very good. Hinges intact. Plates clean with very minimal foxing.; Two volumes (complete). Green cloth boards with black illustration on front board and gilt lettering on spine. Volume One: 8, [4], pages + 121 leaves of text + 121 plates. Volume Two: [6] pages + 129 leaves of text + xxxiv pages + 129 plates. Page dimensions: 306 x 248mm. Fern pattern endpapers. B&w lithographed engravings of the flora of New Zealand. "Twelve years ago, when the New Zealand Goverment was pleased to entrust me with the preparations of the 'Manual of the New Zealand Flora,' the first outline of the limits of the projected work provided for an atlas of plates to illustrate species descibed therein. It soon became obvious, however, that the attempt to publish both works simultaneously would much delay the appearance of the Manual; and it was finally decided that the publication of the plates should stand over until the more important work of providing a descriptive account of the plants of the Dominion had been completed." - from the Preface.
