Green cloth boards with gilt titles on spine and front board. Illustrated endpapers. Page dimensions: 263 x 186mm. "With 100 illustrations from photographs taken by the author and others". Spine lettering faded. Some bruising to lower corner and lower edge of front board. 30mm chip to cloth along top edge of front board. Joints strong. Hinges intact. Later owner's signature in pencil on half-title page: "John Dower Esq." ; 4to; Signed by Author
