Volumes I and II are in good condition. Volume III is in fair condition only, with quite heavy old black mould stains to the rear endpaper and the margins of the lower corners of the final 27 leaves. The text is still complete and readable. Volume III also has dampstains and brown tide-marks to the lower quarter of the last 20 leaves, and damp stains and chipping to the marbled paper on the rear board. Volume III has the wrong title page, it has another copy of the title page that was issued for Volume II instead of the proper title page for Volume III. Volume I has damage to the blank margin of the frontis (a long tear with an old paper repair on verso). Quite heavy foxing to frontis of Volume I. Volumes I and II have heavy foxing to the endpapers. Volume I has two detached leaves, pp. 29-32. The leather spines to all volumes have moderate to quite heavy rubbing and scuffing. There is a 1 1/2" split at the top of the rear joint on Volume III, and a 3/4" split to the leather near the tail of the rear joint. The leather joints on Volumes I and II are in good condition with no tears or splits to the leather.; Three volumes. Half-calf and marbled papered boards. Page dimensions: 278 x 206mm.
