This copy has an undated contemporary inscription from the author's sister on the front endpaper "With every good wish for your happiness from the sister of the author who was a friend of your father's 35 years ago - Dorothy L. McBurney. Southbourne Amersham Hill High Wycombe". The author died at the age of 24.
