Large tear across most of the dedication leaf, without loss of text. 19th century ex-libris bookplate of Rev. Thomas Fell on front endpaper. The bookplate is engraved, and features a lion and the Latin motto "Suum Cuique". Some near contemporary? marginalia, e.g. comment on page 8: "I am afraid that evidence is very disputable and wish he had given proof its indisuptability", referrering to the line "It seems to rest on indisputable evidence [. . .]". ; xx, 338, viii, [1] pages.
