Binding worn, with spine cloth separated along entire length of front joint, and most of rear joint. Spine cloth nearly detached. Loss of cloth at ends of spine. Internally good. Some foxing to margins of plates. Previous owner's signature in pencil "H J M Ross". Complete, but could do with some restoration, rebacking / rebinding. ; viii, 352 pages + 8 tinted lithograph plates (including frontispiece). Original blind-stamped red cloth boards, with gilt lettering on spine. Page dimensions: 183 x 119mm. Pale yellow endpapers. The 8 plates are bound in as: frontispiece; facing pages 199, 206, 214, 228, 283, 312, 321. Also with an in-text illustration on page 231.
